Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast will host a seminar featuring Leslie Moskal, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Chuck Kuebler, Physician Assistant for Sacred Heart Hospital, on Friday, July 21 at 11a.m.
Moskal and Kuebler will speak on bone health and fragility fracture risks – covering ways to improve bone health through strength exercise and diet and discuss risk factors related to lifestyle, medications, smoking and osteoporosis. Attendees will learn to identify the signs and symptoms of a fractured hip and discuss post fracture concerns; decreased mobility/strength, pain management, risk of infection, increased fall risk, pneumonia risk, blood clots, and fall prevention strategies to reduce fracture risk.
Information on the Bodies in Balance Fall Prevention Program at Sacred Heart, Wellness Program and aquatic, strengthening and balance classes offered through Sacred Heart Rehabilitation will be shared. These classes are available to the public. Free balance assessments will be provided to attendees after the seminar.
Rehabilitation Services at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast provide the expertise to properly diagnose and manage rehabilitation needs. The center provides specialized care, troubleshooting, and education for patients that have conditions effecting their overall balance and mobility. A multidisciplinary team of physical therapy experts work together to strengthen and preserve mobility while educating the patient and preventing future falls and injuries.
