Popular instructor Phil Richter will conduct a Seat Weaving Workshop at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida each Thursday in September 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Participants will learn how to replace the seats on their own chairs.
Weaving styles to be taught include the classical cane open weave, closed weave of fiber rush common on ladder-back chairs, and herringbone pattern using flat or oval reed. Some chairs and stools are available for learning.
Bring your old chair to the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida on Thursday, September 8, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. for a free consultation to find out what it will take to make your old chair look like new again.
The fee to participate in the Seat Weaving Workshop is $10 per class day ($8 for Museum Members), plus a one-time $10 fee to the instructor for materials and the use of tools.
