The Destin School of the Arts (DSOTA) hosts a Spring Swing Family Dance scholarship fundraiser, featuring Hashtag Swing, a 16-piece Jazz Band, from 6-8:30pm located at the Destin Life Center inside Destin United Methodist Church.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 per child, ages 3-12. Ages 2 and under are free. Professional family photos are available to purchase for $20 for the first photo as an add-on purchase and $10 for each additional photo. DSOTA's ballroom instructor and Hashtag Swing band member, Rachel Richey, will teach two dance lessons, including a box step and a swing dance, so families can use them and practice throughout the night to the sounds of jazz band.
Alice Temple serves as the Director for the Destin School of the Arts and has a vision for both the goals of the event and the future of DSOTA.
“My heart’s desire is that this is not only a fun-packed dance/fundraiser, but quality time with connect with your children and loved ones. I would love to see parents dancing with their kids and learning something new together. I’d love to watch couples dancing like our ballroom dance class because they are always smiling and looking into each other’s eyes and laughing. The arts help us with expressing our emotions, but it also brings unity and fellowship.”
There will also be complimentary adult and child-friendly food buffets and silent auction items. Tickets are limited so anyone interested is encouraged to book early.
