With the 2023 Session approaching, we will be hosting an Okaloosa County Legislative Delegation meeting. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Okaloosa County Administration Building, 1250 Eglin Pkwy, Shalimar, FL 32579. The meeting will start at 5:30 PM and end at 7:00 PM.
The public is invited to attend. If you wish to speak at the delegation meeting, please fill out the attached speaker appearance form. Please submit the speaker appearance forms to my Legislative Aide, Andrew Fay (see email below), by Friday, January 6th at 5:00 PM. The time allotted per speaker will depend on how many speaking requests we receive. The time allotment will be strictly enforced to ensure that everyone gets their chance to speak.
Local Bills
The Delegation expects to consider two proposed local bills. If enacted, the first bill would affect the distribution of ad valorem tax revenue when a municipality annexes territory within the territory of a fire control district and the district continues as the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency rescue services. The second bill, if enacted, would change the status of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority from that of a dependent district under Okaloosa County to an independent district.
