Eco Clean Marine recently hosted its monthly trash pickup event in Gulf Shores Alabama, reiterating the commitment of the nonprofit to taking care of the environment through cleanups and education of locals. The October edition of the trash pickup, which was a huge success was held on Saturday, 1st of October in Gulf Shores Alabama at Tacky Jacks the restaurant, with support from local businesses in and around the area.
Recent events, including monsoon rains and natural disasters wreaking havoc across the globe, have highlighted the importance of taking care of the environment. Consequently, Eco Clean Marine has taken the bull by the horns, focusing on decontaminating domestic water by collecting trash and donating them for reuse and up-cycling.
The initiative by Eco Clean Marine is laudable, considering the effect of decontaminated water bodies not only on vegetation and animals but also on the general quality of life of humans. The stats that all domestic water comes from the ocean and other water bodies and contamination of such sources leads to most of the illnesses that humans suffer including typhoid and other diseases, reiterates the importance of cleaning the environment.
The October trash pickup was supported by The Grand Hotel, Future Astronaut, The Factory, Happy Harbor, Cruzin Tikis, Tropic Falls at OWA, Paradise Marine Center, and Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Other businesses that contributed to preserving the health of the earth are Ace Hardware, Tacky Jacks, Brick and Spoon, and Cobalt and their sister restaurants. Participants picked up 31 5GALLON buckets of trash in one hour, followed by an after-party to raise money with a silent auction.
